The Problem
Tokenised equities and crypto perpetuals have lived in separate venues. A trader holding a tokenised stock could not use it as margin, could not hedge it with an equity perp on the same book, and had to stop trading when the US market closed. Most perp DEXes offer crypto only, and most tokenised-stock issuers offer no derivatives at all.
The Solution
One self-custodied, cross-margined account holding Stock Tokens, crypto and USDG side by side. Spot Stock Tokens trade 24/7 at 0% fees through an RFQ maker network; 61 live perpetual markets across equities, index and commodity ETFs and crypto run continuously with price bands, per-market open-interest caps and elevated margin outside regular trading hours; and Stock Tokens can be posted as collateral against those perps. Custody and settlement stay on-chain in audited rootchain contracts with an emergency-settlement escape hatch.
Why it Matters
Built by the dYdX Labs team - Eddie Zhang as founder and CEO, dYdX founder Antonio Juliano on the board - with a strategic investment from Robinhood Crypto and a home chain operated by Robinhood. That combination gives Arcus the only venue where a tokenised share is simultaneously a spot holding, a margin asset and a hedgeable perp leg. The trade-off is that the equity exposure is a BVI debt claim rather than share ownership, and the whole stack sits on a three-month-old broker-run chain with a single sequencer.
