The Problem

Centralized perpetual futures exchanges (Binance, OKX, Bybit) custody user funds, are subject to regulatory enforcement, and can freeze withdrawals. Most decentralized perp DEXes still rely on centralized matching engines or shared L2 sequencers.

The Solution

dYdX V4 runs the entire orderbook, matching engine, and settlement on a sovereign Cosmos SDK blockchain operated by ~60 independent validators, with traders retaining custody of collateral on-chain.

Why it Matters

The only major perp DEX with a fully on-chain orderbook on its own sovereign appchain. 100% of trading fees go to DYDX stakers as USDC — no protocol take, no team revenue siphon.
