The Problem

Algorand users had no way to earn consensus rewards, keep their ALGO liquid, and borrow against it at the same time — and DeFi users on other chains have to bridge assets manually and manage a separate lending position on every network.

The Solution

Folks Finance combines an over-collateralised money market, xALGO liquid staking with instant un-pausable redemption, and a hub-and-spoke cross-chain lending layer that gives a user one unified collateral-and-debt account across nine networks.

Why it Matters

The core Algorand contracts are provably immutable — the deployed TEAL has no UpdateApplication branch — and the only upgradeable module is guarded by a 24-hour timelock requiring the new bytecode hash to be pre-committed on-chain, all behind a 4-of-7 native multisig with token freeze and clawback renounced.
