The Problem

Solana stakers historically earned only base validator rewards and could not access the MEV tips their stake helped capture; liquid staking on Solana was fragmented and lacked an MEV-aware product.

The Solution

Jito built a modified Solana validator client (Jito-Solana) plus an off-chain bundle auction (Block Engine) that captures MEV tips, and a liquid-staking pool (JitoSOL) that distributes those tips back to stakers alongside base staking yield.

Why it Matters

Only Solana LST that meaningfully captures MEV in its exchange rate; #1 MEV infrastructure on Solana with ~$1.75B cumulative fees; vertically integrated from validator client to LST to restaking framework.
