The Problem

Bitcoin and BTC liquid-staking derivatives sit idle across a dozen fragmented chains. Getting dollar liquidity against them normally means bridging the collateral to wherever the stablecoin lives, which adds a wrapped-asset counterparty and a bridge exploit surface on top of the borrowing risk.

The Solution

River lets a user post BTC, ETH, BNB or an LST into a Trove on whichever chain already holds the asset and mint satUSD natively on a different chain over LayerZero OFT messaging — no bridge, no wrapper. Borrowing carries 0% interest, liquidation is instant and permissionless above a 110% minimum collateral ratio, and satUSD can be staked into satUSD+ to accrue protocol fees or swapped 1:1 for USDT/USDC through the Nexus Yield Module.

Why it Matters

The omni-CDP is, as far as can be established, the first production CDP where collateral and issuance live on different chains without a bridged representation. The Smart Vault and Prime Vault products go further, minting satUSD internally against a deposit so the user earns stablecoin yield while holding no debt and facing no liquidation. The trade-off is that Prime Vault collateral sits with unnamed third-party custodians and NYM reserves are deployed into CeFi strategies, so a material share of satUSD's backing is not verifiable on-chain.
